About Us
Remembering What We Used to Do
The idea for The Urban Mystic Apothecary evolved as a result of a long career in public health and witnessing the results of our social, food and healthcare choices on our overall health and whole-body wellbeing. I also found that many in our society were no longer interested in taking expensive medications as the first line of defense against illness.
I fully understood the principles of science, and as someone who worked inside a sexually transmitted infection clinic for years, I believe in them. But I also believe that thousands of years of Eastern, Ayurvedic and Native American homeopathic medicine also has a place in wellness. The mind, body and spirit are indeed connected and an imbalance in one may result in an imbalance in the others.
The Urban Mystic Apothecary offers essential oils and education on their proper uses, the latest scientific research on their benefits, hazards and information on how these oils were used traditionally in other cultures.
